Continuing...

Wednesday, June 17, 2009 I decided to head on over to Crater Lake again this year as I found it so beautiful. The shot on the left, below, is the canyon leading out of the south side of the crater. To the right is an interesting shot over the crater lake (which, by the way, is 6 miles across!!) taken outside the lodge where I enjoyed a very nice lunch. I overheard a group at the next table at lunch saying that Cleetwood trail down to the lake was open so I decided to hike down to the lake's surface.
Oh, yeah, Picture to left below is Wizard Island, a volcanic peak which juts up at the West side of the lake. Cleetwood trail is on the North side.
The hike down is about a mile, but the zig-zag trail is well groomed and a gentle slope. Several very little kids were on the trail. Thursday, June 18, 2009 Just south of Bend, Oregon, is Newberry National Volcanic Monument (Lava Butte), worth a look-around. Click on Lava Butte, Oregon for a Quicktime 360 degree panoramic view made at a viewpoint at the top of Lava Butte. As soon as you see it load, just click and hold
on the picture and move your mouse from one side to the other to scroll 380 degrees. You can use your shift and control keys to zoom in and out also. Cool! Friday, June 19, 2009 Redmond, OR. Brother David, on left. Grand niece Bob (Aubrey) on swing to right, Claudia pushing. Bob doing her homework. :-) Peterson's Rock Garden, Redmond, OR. An afternoon out.

I spent just over a week before heading up to Mukilteo, Washington, stopping in Portland on the way up to visit the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry. If you are ever up that way, stop in! Now let's move on.
