Onward--Yellowstone

Monday, July 6, 2009 Gardiner is a very pretty little town at the edge of Yellowstone Park, actually containing the Northern entrance. The very large series of pictures which follow is more for me than you! I will remember as I travelled through Yellowstone the pictures and scenery, from the Buffalo herds on the plains shortly after entering the park through Old Faithful. Sit back and let them load. There 30+. Yes, there are steaming, bubbling sulfur beds throughout the park, and the buffalo (bison) don't seem to mind it, as you will see. The next 2 shots are merely to illustrate the various colors of lichens to school kids. The colors seem to be growing on the rock....

Yellowstone lake came as a surprise to me as I hadn't anticipated that there would be such a large lake in the middle of the park. I stopped to photograph a wide Pano of it. Click on Yellowstone Lake Let's move on to the next page.
