School was out on Thursday, so after a couple of days of preparation I loaded up the RV
and headed up to Sun City for a short visit with my good friends Steve and Carol Bednarck.
I acquiesced to their persistent demands that I accompany them to some local vineyards and
sample some of the local wines. After a very pleasant (what I remember of it) afternoon
at the tasting rooms, I got a good night's sleep (I think) and turned the RV northward
toward Oregon.

I decided to spend the night at the River Grove RV Park in Felton--just out of Santa Cruz.
What a beautiful spot...River, redwoods.

Lake Shasta is quite lovely, but as is easily seen, the drought has taken its toll. But the snow-covered peak....

I spent the night at Cave Junction, Gateway to Oregon Caves National Monument.
The Park is on the Illinois River, shallow and lovely.
